Now that you understand how a Palm device works and how to use the development tools, you're ready to start programming. In this chapter we discuss how to write Palm applications: what they are, how they're launched, how events are processed, how to create user interface resources, and how to build a user interface with those resources. This chapter is not a comprehensive guide to Palm programming, however, and you should consult the official Palm Computing documentation (included with the Palm O S SDK) or other books for more details. Rather, this chapter introduces you to Palm application development to enable you to write a basic application and to follow the examples in later chapters.
